Reply: I Am The Walrus
For many years, followers have loved analyzing the lyrics of songs in The Beatles’ catalog. Whereas many songs have debatable lyrics and tease out nuances which will or could not be there, there’s one tune that’s merely past evaluation: “I Am The Walrus”.
Why is it past evaluation? As a result of it was supposed to be nonsensical particularly due to folks analyzing Beatles songs. In 1967, a scholar from John Lennon’s previous highschool, Quarry Financial institution Excessive College, wrote to inform him that his trainer was utilizing Beatles songs as a part of classes targeted on analyzing meanings in artistic works.
Apparently, Lennon was somewhat amused by the entire thing (and the higher phenomenon of followers normally obsessing over their songs’ lyrics), so when it got here time to jot down the lyrics for “I Am The Walrus”, the purpose of the train was to create one thing that couldn’t be untangled as a result of it didn’t imply something within the first place.
